2. How We Use Personal Information

We use Personal Information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Site;
  • Process and fulfill orders, including payment, shipping, and customer service;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or security incidents;
  • Communicate with you, including order updates and, where permitted, marketing;
  • Improve and personalize the Site and our offerings;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Sharing of Personal Information

We do not sell your Personal Information for money. We share Personal Information only as described below:

  • Service providers who help operate our business, including our website hosting provider [HOSTING PROVIDER], payment processor [PAYMENT PROCESSOR], shipping/fulfillment carriers, email/SMS marketing platform [PLATFORM NAME], and analytics providers [ANALYTICS TOOL, e.g., Google Analytics]. These providers are contractually restricted from using your information for purposes other than providing services to us.
  • Legal and safety reasons, including to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Mobile Parts 247, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which Personal Information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent, for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information.

“Sale” and “Sharing” Under U.S. State Law

Some U.S. state privacy laws (e.g., California) define “sale” and “sharing” broadly to include certain uses of advertising cookies and pixels, even without an exchange of money. To the extent our use of advertising/analytics cookies (see Section 5) constitutes a “sale” or “sharing” of Personal Information under such laws, you have the right to opt out — see Section 7.

4. Behavioural Advertising

We may use Personal Information to show you advertisements or marketing we believe may interest you, using cookies and similar technologies described below.

To learn more about interest-based advertising generally, visit the Network Advertising Initiative at http://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.

You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies via:

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit the Site. We use cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, web beacons, local storage) for the following purposes:

Category

Purpose

Strictly Necessary

Enable core functionality such as shopping cart, checkout, and account login. The Site cannot function properly without these.

Performance/Analytics

Help us understand how visitors use the Site (e.g., pages visited, traffic sources) so we can improve it.

Functional

Remember your preferences (e.g., region, language).

Advertising

Used by us or third parties to deliver relevant ads and measure their performance.

Cookies are either “session” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” (remain until they expire or you delete them, typically between 30 minutes and two years).

Your choices: Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect Site functionality. Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies and provide a mechanism to withdraw that consent.

Do Not Track

Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, we currently do not alter our data practices in response to such signals. (California residents: see Section 7 for the Global Privacy Control.)

6. Canadian Privacy Rights (PIPEDA and Provincial Law)

If you are located in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and applicable provincial laws (including Quebec’s Law 25), give you the right to:

  • Access the Personal Information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete Personal Information;
  • Withdraw consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your Personal Information, subject to legal or contractual restrictions;
  • Know the purposes for which your information is being collected, used, or disclosed;
  • File a complaint if you believe we have not handled your Personal Information appropriately.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact:

7. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), and comprehensive privacy laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with similar laws in effect. Where applicable, you have the right to:

  • Know/Access — request details about, and a copy of, the Personal Information we’ve collected about you;
  • Delete — request deletion of your Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions;
  • Correct — request correction of inaccurate Personal Information;
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your Personal Information and of targeted advertising;
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny goods/services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right;
  • Appeal a denied request (available in most states with comprehensive privacy laws).

California residents: we will honor a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out request for your browser/device.

How to exercise your rights: submit a request to info@mobilepartsDirect.com or by mail to the address in Section 10. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf where permitted by law.

We will not use a rights request itself to build a new profile about you beyond what’s necessary to process the request.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13 (or under 16, where applicable state law requires). If you believe a child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

9. Data Retention and Security

We retain Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your Personal Information; however, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

International Data Transfers

Because our service providers may be located outside your province, state, or country (including in the United States or Canada), your Personal Information may be processed in a jurisdiction with different data protection laws than your own.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the revised Policy on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting Canadian residents’ rights under PIPEDA, or requiring renewed consent, will be communicated as required by law.
